Great Stay!

Ever experience that perfect stay ? Ya, me neither until now. At check in, I was greeted with a smile and recognized as an IHG rewards member. Registration was smooth and quick. The room was very clean and updated. Everything worked as designed. Great WiFi. All common areas were clean as well. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I was greeted with a smile and hello by the desk clerk every time I walked by day or night. Loved the free laundry and coffee 24hrs. Nice selection of store items. I never wanted for anything during my stay. Will be back.
Great Stay!

Nothing really to complain about. Everything was awesome. Bed extremely comfy, great hot water and water pressure. Very appreciative of the kitchen and the fact that my little furry guy came stay with me. Will definitely return.
Impressed but you should definitely fix....

The room was really clean and comfortable. I was super impress for everything I received for the very reasonable amount I paid.
When I checked in on 10/11 at 7ish pm. The young lady working the front desk was super nice and very professional. She seemed to be juggling a few issues and checkin people in all at the same time. She was patience and very kind and I really appreciated that. I wish I got her name at check in because she was awesome.
The next morning around 6ish am. I was attempting to load 1/2 my things into my car and I was met by a gentleman at the front desk who was not as nice. He didn't greet me and he looked half asleep. I told him I locked myself out of my room and that I was in rm 125. He gave me a key without question. He didn't verify any information to ensure I was the right person for that room. I WAS SHOCKED and this is definitely a security issue. Anyone could request a key to my room. This is not safe and it needs to be fixed. This is the only reason I didn't give a 5 star.
Additional suggestion:
I had a female emergency and it was late. There is everything stocked in the Candlewood Cupboard from sandwiches, combs, hair spray but no female products (tampons or pads). We all have emergencies or forget things and that is why this room is so great. I would like to suggest stocking feminine products just in case.
Overall, I would definitely stay here again but please get some type of verification before giving out keys (name, car type, phone number given at checkin or something.)
Misleading and poor management

I stay in a hotel 6 nights a week. Candlewood HAD a pretty good rep not too long ago. So when one of the IHG representatives said this candle wood took corporate, I let them reserve a room over the IHG central number. Central called to confirm too since the first IHG property told me they had a room, but while I was transferred it sold. IHG said this candlewood was 6 miles from my target location. More fake news. It turned out to be 23.1 miles Uber driving distance. Regardless... I arrive and the front desk tells me they take clc but wasn't sure how to do it. She said she would leave a note for someone who does, her manager. I checked again and she was resigning from the computer world and now needed to make a copy of my cards to give to someone late who could check me in. Not common to see someone working the front desk that can't check in a guest, but I don't care if you're the maintenance man helping out the front desk, as long as the keys work when I get to the room and it's clean so I don't have to lug all my luggage up and down again. Things happen and I'm too busy to complain, read my jillion reviews and you'll see. Now fast forward to the front office manager telling me they don't participate with corporate and haven't for years. Now my moods not so great. I mean I've been jumping thru hoops, to be nice, and they aren't going to honor it. Never mind the 800 number reservationists said they will, confirmed it with the property, her own front desk agent said they were, but now this manager shows up and they suddenly don't do it all. It's a friggin direct bill, not a credit card. I mean how hard is it? So whether they know how to do their job, or are trying to manipulate their ADR, I don't know. I just know its not how any person in hospitality should handle a situation....
Now to get all the way down to 2 stars on a rating from me, you have a lobby screaming remodel me, staff screaming train me, and the one good thing going for your brand... the free laundry facility, half of them don't work and the other half are always being used because there's not enough for everyone! Ugh. What a long, arduous night in a motel. 2 stars almost feels generous now.
What management needs to understand when they read this is: There are enough headaches for a traveling man, staying the night is supposed to be like going home to relax... But, this was so blatant, and repeated (3 people) that you deserve a terrible review. Never mind the paint in the lobby. This was a human error, where you should be creating a relationship when a mistake is made, instead your people made it a divorce. I don't pay for the room, so while I'm a good steward of my companies money, I don't want anything for free. You could have charged $200 for the room and I wouldn't have cared, it's not about the money for me. It's about the convenience... or in this case inconvenience. I absolutely don't need you, you need me. So while I faced another "yooooge" fail by a poorly managed IHG property, and sucked up an extra thirty minute off my sleep for that long Uber ride.... y'all can write off every night I spend at your competitors. No one wins :(
Comfy and spacious-- but a little unorganized

We've stayed at plenty of Candlewood hotels before, both for a few nights, as well as extended stay for a few months. This Candlewood wasn't quite as clean or updated as I can recall the other Candlewoods I've stayed at, but it was sufficient. We purchased a suite room with a pull out bed for only about ten dollars more than a non-suite room and were pleasantly surprised at how spacious the hotel was at such a low price. We had a huge kitchen with plenty of storage space, a huge desk, and plenty of places to sit. Our bed was comfy and the shower pressure was amazing.
The cupboard seemed less stocked than other Candlewoods I've stayed at, but there were still a few options that were okay. More than half of the washers were broken in the laundry room, as well. Additionally, the gym was in the same room as the cupboard, laundry, and business center. Using the gym with kids playing at the business center and folks doing their laundry was distracting and uncomfortable. It would have been nice if these were all in separate locations... but obviously for a few nights, this isn't a big deal.
The only MAJOR negative I have for this hotel was that we had asked for sheets and blankets for our pull out bed (this was the reason we booked the suite-- so we could use the pull out bed, as well), but were told that they didn't have any available because they were at full capacity. Full capacity or not, they should have enough sheets for all beds, including pull outs if that's what you booked.
