If you have time to spend a few days in Jaipur, and you stay at the Colonels Homestead you will enjoy one of the best Indian experiences you could have.
Not only will you have a lovely comfortable room and bathroom, but the great pleasure
of meeting Rajesh and Vijaya your hosts.
It is a place to take a little time out to relax and talk to the interesting people that seem to pass through this oasis in Jaipur. Also easy to get to all the places you want to visit.
I NEVER WANT TO LEAVE THIS PLACE

Living in a new and foreign country for a few months can be very difficult. It is especially difficult when the countries culture is so different from what you are used to. I must say though, living at Colonel's Homestead has been such a wonderful experience. I was made to feel completely at home by its owners, Vijaya and Rajesh. They treated my like family and I even referred to them as my adoptive parents. The staff were also super lovely and I know I will miss my stay when I go back home to Australia. Would 110% recommend this place to all travellers whether they be staying 2 nights or 2 months.
Upscale India

I stayed here for seven weeks during the low-tourist-season and had a great time. The host family was very friendly and helpful and I learned plenty about the area. The food was good. Breakfast was different every day, always delicious. The room was clean, staff was dedicated and friendly, everything worked: AC, wifi, hot water. I like to walk, and this neighborhood is upscale and has some nice areas for walking. I also would sometimes take an Uber taxi to the Jaipur commercial center for about 80 Rupees for shopping and lunch. Highly recommended.
Highly overated

We had planned to stay one night in Jaipur to meet with an old friend. We checked the hotels in and around Vaishali Nagar (where he was living) and came across this hotel using online reviews.
Our booking (1 double, 1 Single) was confirmed on e-mail, when we reached the hotel I pressed the door bell at the gate. Nobody responded for a long time, hence tried to call the phone number provided to us in the email. No one answered the phone the first time and then the phone was switched off (so much for customer orientation).
After some time a person opened the gate, but had no knowledge of our booking, he tried to call some one to check. Since it was taking a long time we started hunting for hotels near by when they suddenly decided that our booking exists.
After all this we found the rooms were good, but the air conditioners were undersized for the size of the room. The hotel is a nice quaint one.
The main problem is customer orientation, the some of the people working come across as indifferent to customer service. In the middle of the night power tripped for well over an hour, I had to go down wake up someone who then did something to get power restarted.
I do not normally write only bad reviews, but experience here has forced me to do so.
