If you want to buy pain, book here

I had an appointment at SGPGI, Lucknow at 9:00 AM. In order to make to that comfortably, I booked at this hotel. Visited the hotel before booking it but the problems were not apparent at that time.
1. The room (101) door cannot be locked from inside without risking your fingers.
2. This hotel supplies no drinking water, they sell water bottle from "minibar" in the room at a premium. Was not happy when they saw us walking in with our own water bottles.
3. When I checked in the basin was full of "paan" stain - yes it was disgusting. Upon complaining, the attendant cleaned it with his HANDS.
4. The walls are not yet fully painted and full of damp spots. It had some paper designs on it which are now mostly torn off.
5. The window AC unit is right above the bed and thus the cold air would hit your face from a distance of less than one foot. As I was the only occupant, I slept on the other side of the bed. Wouldn't know how I would have dealt with it had there been another person with me.
6. The toilet bowl has not been affixed to the floor. The unhygienic ugliness aside, it is extremely uncomfortable to use,
7. There is no way to get bed tea (before 8:00 AM) in this hotel. I requested for four slices of "toasted bread" with butter for breakfast. See the photograph to learn what I got for 100 rupees. Four slices of cheap quality bread, fried with smelly oil on a skillet (they don't have a toaster and didn't use butter) and served inside a hotpot. They do not even have breakfast plates to serve on.
This is a complete rip off for a ~2000 rupee per night per room hotel. If you have business at SGPGI, I would suggest that you go for a better hotel in the city (many are there for comparable price) and allocate extra 30 minutes for travel to the hospital than to endure the expensive pain served at this terrible hotel.
