Holiday with the family

Beautiful place but we went as a family and were not told the pool was under maintenance. Shopping was advertised by the chain but when asked they said no. Staff were unhelpful and seemed not to care. The beach was beautiful but we were that unhappy we took a flight to Zanzibar where the level of service was as it should be. We will note back and would not recommend the hotel to anyone !!!

Everything was lovely! Friendly staff, clean and welcoming. It was great for the work conference and also for a few extra days of relaxation. It's my second time here and I would come for a third as well.
Just OK

The restaurant had an ok atmosphere, but some tables set, some not, it didn't seem ready for the dinner crowd. I had the beef lasagne; small portion with no sides, but very flavorful. My wife had coconut chicken. It was highly average, not as good as Maua Garden in Kunduchi, but 2-3 times as expensive.
We weren't necessarily disappointed, but there wasn't enough reason to try it again.
Superb location, friendly staff

Why go to Zanzibar when there are places like this? Bahari Beach is comfortably placed on the beach across from Mbuja Island Marine Reserve. The place is quiet with a great restaurant+swimming pool. The reception should do more to inform guests that a boat can be booked to take you to Mbuja Island for a day trip, a place where you can still see corals and plenty of beautiful fish. The boat costs 12.000 TZS per person, park entrance 12 USD (foreigners)/3 USD (Tanzanians). The cafe on Mbuja will prepare freshly caught fish & chips while you snorkle, good but not cheap. Snorkle, mask and feet can be rented at 25.000 TZS. Dar Es Salaam city can easily be reached by taxi, bus or tuc-tuc. The fitness room is well equipped with new, nice machines.
Increased prices after booking

We had enjoyed a lovely experience at Ledger a year ago, but unfortunately the experience this year was a complete disaster due to new management. We had arranged a dinner for a large group here and agreed the price and menu. Only a week before our reservation, the manager called to tell us that he was increasing the price significantly as he "didn't like how much we were paying ". He told us we would have to drive there to visit him if we didn't agree. This was very inconvenient as it is a long drive from where we were working, and we had a very busy schedule. However, we drove out to try to fix the issue. He refused to change his mind on his new price, and was very unhelpful and rather rude. We could no longer afford to take our group there on the new price and had to find another hotel at the last minute. Very unprofessional. We will absolutely not be back.
