What People are saying

Best budget resort in the given price

Prasad M on 21/11/2017 08:49

Visited this wonderful resort on 1st sep for 2nights. Just 20mins away from the Bus Station and any auto or can can drop you here. When we entered the lobby first thing which I noticed was the OCEAN. I mean it's that close guys ,you can see the waves from the lobby itself and would die to go out. We were greeted with a nice welcome drink and soon we were also given early check-in. Their restaurant don't have much options but whatever they cook is tasty. Fish thali was awesome, veg biryani was also good and the ice cream. Our room was Luxury garden view and that is the best room type. It's really luxurious compare to the shabby Sea view room.

Good

Compromising the security of female customer on the name of rules

Irfan M on 29/10/2017 22:44

Before booking i went through couple of negative feedback and thought that they were stray cases which every place will have. I got more deceived by the pics here. But only after being there it served me the example for - ALL THAT GLITTERS IS NOT GOLD.

i had a bitter experience on the night i arrived there.i wasnt aware that the beach side gate would be closed by 7 30 pm. no one told about these things at the time of check in nor was i informed about the timings in any sort except for the small board at the gate which went unnoticed..unintentionally/unexpectedly/unknowingly. I left the gate at around 6 30 pm and even the security guard present at the gate did not bother to inform us that they would be closing the gate after 7 30 pm. i came back at the beach side gate after a dinner from the beach shack which is right in-front of the hotel at around 9 pm and was bluntly refused to open the gate. and instead they asked to come from the neighboring hotel gate for which the path was not visible and i had no idea how to come to the front gate.

i passed on the message to the reception that i have a female accomplice - my wife at this moment and to open the gate for this time as we were not made aware of the timings, but was ruthlessly refused citing security reason.

i dont understand what kind of security it gives to the female client of the hotel to go through an unknown path to come back to the hotel for which they are paying.

we waited at the beach gate for about 5-10 minutes but the security guard did not turn back to us. we were left stranded and helpless. we were left on our own

I contacted the travel desk agent Mrs Shantana who somehow guided us to the neighboring hotel gate. and unfortunately their gate was also closed. we had to jump through their gate and come to our hotel as their was no security guard.

and let me tell you, when i was passing through that dark path..there were couple of guys who appeared to be drunk. We felt in secured.

what if something would have gone wrong. would you blame it on the customer that they did not notice the board and shrug off your shoulders. or would you think about the ground reality of the situation. allow the customer for this time and try to fix these kind of situations from cropping up in the future. Are you running a hotel or a hostel?

I went to the front desk and had a heated argument with Ms Masha who appears to be operations director. She did not even bother to enquire if i was made aware of the gate rule during check-in( which i came to know that they actually let their clients know at the time of check-in and it was somehow to communicated to us). It was a mistake on their part that they missed to convey us the rules and once they realized it during the argument, they tried to ignore the point and instead put the fault on us that we missed to see the board and it was our mistake.

She only kept on arguing that it is the hotels rule and if they open it for us other clients would question them. for making sure about security of one customer do you want us to risk the security of other customers- is what her counter argument was.

I would have agreed if i was aware of the gate timings and did it on purpose. I argued stating that i would even not have bothered if it was just me or a big group and would have figured out the path on our own.But in this case, I had a female accomplice-My wife and we were just a young couple who did not know how to come to the front gate. They could have analyzed our situation and done their best but instead chose not to help us in any sort. she even made a comment about BEING INDIAN which I FELT WAS A BIT INSENSITIVE. SHE TOLD THAT IT IS ONLY INDIANS WHO ARGUE ON RULES AND FOREIGNERS DONT DO IT AND THEY KEEP QUITE. I CAN ONLY TELL HER ONE THING - YES WE ARGUE BECAUSE WE HAVE THE SENSE, ABILITY AND GUTS TO QUESTION THE RULE IF IT DOES MORE HARM THAN GOOD.

First of all - they missed to communicate us the rule, second of all - they did not even bother to ask if i was aware of the rule. Third- Even after knowing that i have a female accomplice and the path around from the beach is dark, without any lights which looks unsafe ( there are also few fishermen huts and you will have to go from the small, tiny lanes passing through their huts), they chose not to help us.

After all the argument, after a few minutes i spoke to the front desk guy - Sidney who acknowledged that they did not communicate us the timings during check-in and had made an entry in the log about about this goof up and that their manager would get back to us the next day for discussion.

No one turned up. I event sent a mail to the reservation desk and did a follow up on it, but no one responded back. This is how they value their customer. This is the kind of customer service they provide. This is the kind of courtesy they show to the customers who are paying them for their service.

I tried to take a pic of the log which they have noted down for evidence purpose during check-out, but the guy at the front desk relentlessly tried to snatch the book and had it away. They can check the cctv footage of 10/28/2017 between 5:15 AM - 5:45 AM for what exactly had happened.

Shame on Longuinhos. I will make sure that this incident is spread across different portal time and again until longuinhos acknowledges their mistake and come back with a satisfactory response. They have made me feel dishartend, at loss, waste of time, set my mood off and had made me go back with a bad memory.

PS: I am not angry on the part that they missed to communicate the timings. I understand about Human-error which is bound to happen at any job. some from the service provider and some from the customer end. What angered me was the way the situation was handled and their in-sensitiveness.

I have gone through the hotel policy at other portal as well and it no where had any such information written ( attached pic below). If there was any special rule, then longuinhos must have made sure to communicate it, but they did not do that.

Keeping the issue aside – travel tip for the travelers.

Dont get deceived by the pics. First of all i would not recommend it for their attitude of service. For the sake of argument even if we keep the issues aside, i would still not recommend this place for
1.> The beach front is not that great and the beach view is just below average. You get to see the father part of sea, not the beach
2.> The hotel is situated at very isolated place. There is nothing much to venture around.
3.> inherited by too many cats and crows.
4.> dirty stench of dead fishes as the fishermen colony is very adjacent to the hotel. You will feel like puking.
5.> You would find frequent dead fishes washing up on the shore and also the water doesn’t look that great ( muddy and brownish).
5.> You have too many other places to stay both at north and south goa. Try any of them and i can assure you that you would not regret not choosing longuinhos. I can say you can try this if you are staying here for a day of two max and that too if you are not planning to venture GOA. If you plan to visit other places at goa, you can happily ignore it.

I would recommend this place for

1.> Nice swimming pool. Had good time and taken good pics there. The beach shack is good. You must try Silver spoon beach shack and the different fishes there.
2.> Room looks good.
3.> If you want to visit goa only for the pool and the room

Longuinhos : expectations not met !!

5MP95 on 11/10/2017 16:56

We were a group of 8 friends visiting longuinhos after seeing their colorful pics on many websites and comparing it with many other similar resorts across south Goa ( we intentionally stay away from North Goa and preferred south for many years now).

Pros :

10 minute walk from colva beach

The rooms were Good fr an all boys group as ours - A/c , Fan, Digital Safe, clean washrooms, coffee maker. Etc - Overall a Good experience with Rooms & service.

Sea view rooms were awesome - gave fantastic views of the sea.

Complimentary breakfast

We were given 2 of the 4 rooms reserved at 1130am inspite of hotel checkin time of 1pm .. Thank them fr that gesture as we landed at 7am in Goa.

Room service / Housekeeping were good, cleaned the place without fail every day and replaced the toileteries, clothes and provided reasonable service when asked fr.

Hot water available fr shower/ bath and washbasin 24/7

Moderate pricing for rooms.

Spacious parking within the resort with security round the clock

Forex and travel bookings helpdesk at the reception

Spa and souvenirs shopping available in the resort

Cons :

check in time is a big drawback for passengers arriving early to spend time in Goa, it is "1pm" , while it was informed to us earlier, we still ended up spending close to 200+ minutes on the beach due to late checkin time - please have this revised to a 11am atleast.

The location of resort - the strong smell of fresh fish and 'sea catch remains' from the beach engulfs the whole resort throughout the day time and subsides once night falls. It gets too uncomfortable and stinky due to boats landing very close to the resort. Sea view rooms would bear most of it.

Not sure if the pool was refilled with fresh water at least during our stay of 3 days ... while the cleaning was done to get the remains out, the water had strong chlorine content making the eyes uncomfortable after spending time at pool.

Breakfast was average to below average .. the vada and chutney were stale on day 1, only fresh things on the table were fruits. Decided to head out for better options from Day 2.

Frequent power fluctuations at mornings, few rooms faced water clogging etc but rectified after complaining.

One card fr access per room given fr a double room. It should be atleast 2 cards fr 2 individuals , huge inconvenience otherwise.

The garden restaurant was never setup durung our visit.

End notes : while the staff here are efficient, few terms/ location is a dis advantage for longuinhos.
